The cat who talked by *vicutu uses bold shapes and a limited palette to convey a story. It's the subtle details in the fur and the patterned background to me which makes this piece complete. ( Featured by `ChewedKandi )

I actually really like this picture. I think it's the colour scheme and the composition. I like how you did the face of the cat, too.

One thing is bothering me though. The right paw really looks unfinished. It is far too small, making it look way further away than it should. Also it's bending at a rather odd angle, especially in comparison to the left paw. And, given the light source, there ought to be a shadow cast by it onto the book cover as there is with the left paw. It looks pretty out of place and is a bit distracting.

Thank you very much for the critiques, it's very nice of you to take the time to analyze and mention what you feel wrong. You're probably right but I found out that if I insist too much on details like this I tend to redo details over and over and forget about the whole. I know I'm not gonna be satisfied with it for a long long time (the paw was one of the last things i would've redone, I find the whole shadow system a little bit scketchy - that happens a lot after learning how to actually calculate the damn stuff) so I try to let my work free before I over polish it.

The right paw, hmmm, I don't intend to change it's angle proportions but maybe, just maybe I'll make it drop the shadow

In the end i'm glad people got the story.

Thanks again for the critique, i feel really bad I don't get more tbh. :)

Haha I get that way all the time. If I start looking too hard, I find a billion things I have to fix and I get frustrated and give up altogether.

I know how you feel. I love me some critique too! But people can be lazy or sometimes just don't know what to say. :( Including me. But I try to help out where I can!
